This year, Troop 208 relied on the leadership of somewhat younger scouts,
since many of the older scouts are going to Seabase. We always attended closing
ceremonies of each day in class-A uniforms.
Here the troop is led by
Senior Patrol Leader Cameron Johnson, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader Michael
Badders and Patrol Leader Neil Link.
No matter what you may have heard from some of the scouts, the food at the
Camp John J. Barnhardt dining hall was the best we have seen at a summer camp.
Bryan Dowse is extremely excited by the prospect of some more spaghetti... whatever.
The dining hall was constructed brand new for 1997.
The camp help evening campfires Sunday, Wednesday and Friday nights.
Troop 104
Performed a skit on Wednesday evening.
John Couture
led a skit for Troop 208. Not seen, but also participating were Adam Badders and
Kyle Ryan.
Assistant Scoutmaster Tom Link taught the WoodCarving merit badge in the
handicraft lodge.
Scout Joe Moebus polishes up work on a neckerchief slide that fullfills the
requirement for "carving in the round".
The camp had an impressive
rapelling and climbing tower, that the team taking cope used, as well as scouts
taking the Climbing merit badge.
With the hot weather that week, we we glad that the camp had such a nice pool.
Many Troop 208 scouts took the Swimming merit badge.
here we see some of the badge that requires lessons outside the water.
Each evening, Troop 208 held our own flag ceremony.
The troop stands at attention while Joe Moebus and David Peach fold the flag.
