Troop 208 gathering for opening flag ceremony Troop 208 participated in the Cape Fear District Camporee held at the historic Bentonville Civil War Battlegrounds. Here we see Troop 208 lined up for the opening flag ceremony. Flags of the United States, the State of North Carolina, and the Confederate States were raised at this time.

The troop also hiked the historic Bentonville Battlegrounds. For the Camporee, there were almost 30 stations where there were historic trail m4arkers posted. For many of the stations there was a question that had to be answered to get the Historic Trails patch. Here we see Mr. Fairhurst's and Mr. Couture's patrols getting the answers at the first station. Two patrols gathering information.
The Viper Patrol hiking near a chicken farm We were really out in the countryside. Here we can see a few of Mr. Link's patrol on a "road" that led near a chicken farm. It was a shortcut.
As part of the ceremony, they fired historic Civil War artillery. There was also modern artillery on display courtesy of the U.S. Army.

The Pather Patrol taking down a tent. On Sunday morning, we packed up to head home. This was the first sunshine we had seen all weekend. Here the Panther patrol members David Peach, Taylor Bussey, Michael Mayse, and J.D. Dove break camp.
