Troop 208 at the Cary Towne Center Mall Troop 208 participated in the Scouting Expo held at the Cary Towne Center on March 7, 1998. Scout Billy Fairhurst coordinated the presentation. The troop built a catapult at the Optimist Farm Campout that we reassembled in the Mall.

Troop 208 Scouts Assembling neckerchief slides. The troop also provided materials and instructions to create a neckerchief slide. The cub scouts were very interested in this all day. Here we see most of the 208 Scouts helping. From left to right, Chris Couture, Billy Fairhurst, in the foreground Aditya Devalapalli, and Neil Link. An unidentified cub scout is looking on in the foreground.

Mr Fairhurst's Scout Jacket We started using Assistant Scoutmaster Mr. Fairhurst's jacket as the ammunition for the catapult, but it caught our attention, that the badges are collectors items, and we should not treat such a treasure with disrespect.
Troop 208 getting the Catapult ready to fire. The Catapult had a range of about 25 feet, depending on the conditions. Here we see the troop getting it ready to fire. From left to right, Neil Link, Chris Couture, J.D. Dove, Taylor Bussey, and Assistant Scoutmaster Mr. Fairhurst
