The Troop 208 November Campout was at "Oddfellows", a campsite owned by the RDU Airport near Umstead Park, November 20, 21 and 22, 1998. We arrived after dark on Friday the 20. It was very mild in the 60's as we erected our campsite.

After a morning of advancement activities, the scouts prepared some impressive meals for lunch. Here, Michael Mayse, J.T Desern and Taylor Bussey Michael, J.T and Taylor warm up near their cooking fire.

Master chef Josh Fairhurst Josh Fairhurst passed part of his his first class cooking requirement by making Philly Cheesesteak. Um, um good.

The Drachen patrol Drachen Patrol enjoys the cooking of Parker Harrsison.

Later, Assistant Scoutmaster Tom Link guided scouts Bikers John Couture, Cyrus Atkins and Sheldon Whitcher while the rest of the troop participated in an orienteering course laid out by David Wormald.

John and Sheldon John followed closely by Sheldon, traverse the cycling paths in Lake Crabtree Park, which is just across I40 from the campsite. It is a popular location for cyclers.

The entire cycling course we took this day was almost 25 miles. In addition to the cycling paths in Lake Crabtree Park, we traveled through Umstead Park on Old Reedy Creek Road. We also traveled on the Black Creek Greenway, where we stopped for this photo.Cyclers by Black Creek
