After a morning of advancement activities, the scouts prepared some
impressive meals for lunch. Here, Michael Mayse, J.T Desern and Taylor
Bussey
warm up near their cooking fire.
Master chef Josh Fairhurst
passed part of his his first class cooking requirement by making Philly
Cheesesteak. Um, um good.
The Drachen patrol
enjoys the cooking of Parker Harrsison.
Later, Assistant Scoutmaster Tom Link guided scouts
John Couture, Cyrus Atkins and Sheldon Whitcher while the rest of the troop
participated in an orienteering course laid out by David Wormald.
John followed closely by Sheldon, traverse the cycling paths in Lake Crabtree
Park, which is just across I40 from the campsite. It is a popular location
for cyclers.
The entire cycling course we took this day was almost 25 miles. In addition
to the cycling paths in Lake Crabtree Park, we traveled through Umstead
Park on Old Reedy Creek Road. We also traveled on the Black Creek Greenway,
where we stopped for this photo.
