Troop 208 participated in the Dan Dan Beard District Camporee at Camp Reeves April 23,24 and 25, 1999. A camporee is always a fun event, since there are so many scouts attending. Troop 208 wasted no time and we played as hard as we could, shown here as Adam Badders puts one up.

At the campfire, all Senior Patrol Leaders were called up to the front as about 2000 scouts were in attendance. The microphone was turned off while SPLs were given the rules of the contest.  When the emcee said "GO!", all the SPLs scatter back toward their troops.  Troop 208 SPL Cyrus Atkins runs like a bat out of you-know-where.  Troop 208 is just about as far from the stage as we can get. When Cyrus gets back here, the next thing we know, Cyrus, Alan and a couple others are first-aid-carrying Scoutmaster Mr. Badders all the way back down to the stage, double-time.  We had the farthest distance to go and still were first by a long shot.  Impressive.

Scoutmaster Mark Badders displayed one his many talents as he led the entire District Camporee attendees, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and leaders in a fine rendition of the song "My High Silk Hat" ("What do you think of that?").
