The crews that drove by van left the Council office at 6am on June 28, 1999. They took a week touring the United States on the way to camp. This photo was takes just before the scouts started a 60 mile hike across the Philmont camp on July 6.
The red van to the left was one crew's transportation as they stop at a rest stop on the way.
Here we see a scenic view from the big room of Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico.
This is Montezuma's Castle in Arizona. This Indian castle was made by the Hohokam Indians in about AD 600.
The van stopped at a rest stop along old route 66. The scouts took photos like this one of the Painted Desert.
This photo was taken from the lookout tower overlooking the Grand Canyon in Arizona. The tower was a 100 ft tall brick structure.
Scout Neil Link is the photographer for all the (other) photos on this page.
