Sleeping Bags and Other Stuff

I hope that everyone is ready to go on what I hope will be a fantastic experience. Some last minute items to consider. I realize that I had not really communicated, other than at Monday night meetings, the break down of leadership responsibilities.

Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Sheldon Whitcher will be acting Sr. Patrol leader for this Expedition. Allen Thomas will be the Patrol leader for the Older Guys in Group 1.  AD will be the patrol leader for Group 2, and Kyle Ryan will be the Patrol leader for Group 3. These 4 leaders will be responsible for making group decisions, and have the authority, accountability, and responsibilitye for management of the scouts going on the trip. The ASM's going on the trip will aid where appropriate.
  • The Scavenger Master for this Trip will be ASM Jim Johnson. Jim will referee, with all decisions final, the group scavenger hunt. Hunt rules anditems will be handed out at the airport to the patrol leaders.
  • Issues surrounding the exchange and management of monies need to be directed to any of the adult leaders. Steve Williams will be the Banker for the trip.

  • Sleeping bags:

  • If you have not already delivered your bag and sleeping pad to me (at my home) for packing in the communial troop duffle bags please do so no later than Saturday Morning (June 3). You can ignore this note if you plan on packing your sleeping bag in your own checkin bag.

  • Other Stuff:

  • I have everyones Airline ticket and train and tube passes. Tickets will be handed out at the airport and then recollected to ensure we do not loose any (These are E-Tickets). Andrew Williams will be working with me to ensure that we get the tickets handed out and recollected. Rail passes will be handed out as needed when we arrive. [Sheldon, Allen, AD, and Kyle ---- Please call the members of your groups to remind them where to meet and the time of 4:00PM on Saturday ---- Thank you]
  • It is recommended that you pack in your carryon day pack a change of clothes just in case something is spilled on the clothes you are wearing or for what ever reason American Airlines is delayed with you checked bag (not a high probability since it is a direct flight).
  • PLEASE do not be late to the airport on Sunday June 4. PLEASE arrive no later than 4:00PM so we can check in as a group. We will meet at the American Airlines ticket counter (upper level) in Terminal C at RDU no later than 4:00PM. Note that this flight is sold out and probably may be over sold in economy class. We have confirmed seats and will get on the plane.
  • It would be helpful if you wore you class B T-Shirt (Red) that we have been wearing for the past 7 months. (Jon Sands ---I have yours and will give it to you at the airport).
  • Please do not forget to pack your class A uniform for the weekend we meet Steve Williams old troop. This is important for both pictures and the flag exchange.
  • The weather in England has been cooler and rainy, soooooooooo do not forget to pack a rain slicker and/or a small umbrella. Remember to layer your clothes to stay dry and warm.

  • If anyone thinks of anything that I may have forgotten Please send a
response to everyone on this list so we can be educated and prepared.

    Oh Behave............Jim
