TROOP 208 CARY NORTH CAROLINA
EXPEDITION TO UK JUNE 4 - JUNE 15, 2000

Spending Money

It is recommended that your son take at least $250.00 in spending money to cover meals, snacks, and any souvenirs that they wish to purchase. This is around $25.00 per day for meals (primarily dinner). Breakfast is covered the first week in London on the Lord Armory.

Please note that Steve Williams has offered to be a banker (See attached note). Also please he advised that the amount of money available is dependent upon the exchange rate the day/time money is converted from Dollars to British Pounds.

For example: If you were to convert $250 US Dollars on 5/15/2000 at l0:00AM to British Pounds the following would have happened:

     ($250 USD x 0.6591 Conversion Rate) = 164.77 British Pounds

Enough monies have been raised to cover all lodging, entrance fees to Stone Hinge, Brown Sea Island, Rental vans and Gas, Tickets on the London Underground, and train service from Gatwick to Central London. It is also anticipated that enough monies will be available to get pizza for the group at least one night (probably the last evening in England)
