After we arrived the patrols quickly set up camp. The Pedros have their tarp up.
The leaders, Mr. Horton, Mr. Tuck Johnson and Mr. Jim Johnson, discuss the upcoming day's activities.
The sun rises over Kerr Lake at the start of a beautiful day. Sunrise was at about 7am.
The dads help wherever they can. Here Don Ryan is helping his son Sean to start a campfire. It was only in the 50's, the coolest it had been this season.
Brent Meyers cooks "eggs in a bag". Looks like it turned out quite tasty.
Adam Johnson, Jeff Horton and David Carlin prepare their breakfast.
Scoutmaster Mr. Whitcher conducted Scoutmaster conferences throughout the day.
Senior Patrol Leader Aditya Devalapalli leads the troop for our morning Flag Ceremony.
Dads again! Looks like Mr. Block is doing the cooking while Mr. Sands, Brian Block and Jonathan Sands supervise.
The Wolverines did a great job. Here they are making lunch. They won the "Lead Dog" award for their efforts.
Canoe activities were at the top of the list at the waterfront.
Swimming was also great, because the water was warm.
Mr. Stalker watches closely as Mr. Desern and his youngest son learn to use the canoes.
Andrew Dunn makes a dash for shore as Josh Fairhurst and the Wolverines look on.
Assistant Scoutmasters are so vain. Tom Link waves hi.
12 scouts and leaders completed the Mile Swim.
The dads and siblings took to the water as well. Explorer Post 208 headed by Tom Stalker coordinated the boating activities.
We had LOTS of boats! The wooden canoe at center was built by scoutmaster Dave Wormald, and the yellow canoe was built by Explorer leader Mr. Gloden.
Any scouts that want to take a canoe on the October campout had to pass the "English Gates" test.
Dads AGAIN! Mr. Desern and Mr. Couture help arrange their dinner on the campfire.
Mr. Dunn and his son Andrew work on their dinner together.
The finale to the day was a fantastic campfire.
Scoutmaster Mr. Whitcher was awarded his Wood Badge in a ceremony during the campfire.
As the campfire closed, the moon rises above Kerr Lake.
